Utah State University is one of 12 beneficiaries of Utah’s trust lands. Trust Lands generates revenue from the 191,472 acres of land held in trust for the University and deposits the revenue into a Permanent Fund. Interest and dividends from this permanent trust, along with all non-land sale revenues, are distributed to the University annually.
Utah State University uses its funds to help meet its mission: “The mission of Utah State University is to be one of the nation’s premier student-centered land-grant and space-grant universities by fostering the principle that academics come first, by cultivating diversity of thought and culture, and by serving the public through learning, discovery, and engagement.”
