Fund Growth Since 2003

Utah’s K-12 public school system is the largest of the 12 trust land beneficiaries. Trust Lands generates revenue from the 3.3 million acres of land held in trust for public schools and deposits the revenue into the Permanent School Fund to grow the principal balance. Interest and dividends from this permanent trust, called School LAND Trust Funds, are distributed annually to public schools based largely on a per-pupil formula.

Individual School Community Councils determine the wisest and best use of the School LAND Trust Funds.
