SITLA Team Earns Governor’s Award for Excellence

A team of seven Trust Lands Administration employees earned the 2014 Governor’s Award for Excellence, which was presented to them by Governor Herbert in a ceremony May 6. The 5600 West Exchange Team includes: Deputy Director Kim Christy, Assistant Deputy Director/Surface Richard B. Wilcox, Assistant Director/Planning and Development Rodger Mitchell, Attorney Wendy Petersen, Resource Specialist Scott Bartlett, Lands Technician Diane Lund, and Office Technician/Easement Specialist Nancy Strickland. Each member of the Exchange Team was vital in completing a complex, two-phase land exchange involving the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources and Utah Department of Transportation. The exchange ultimately conserved 17,000 acres of land for Utah wildlife, generated $15.4 million for the public schools endowment, and created a right of way for the future Mountain View Corridor, a planned dual-county freeway in northern Utah.
