SITLA Land Auction Nets $3.6 Million for Beneficiaries

SITLA sold 11 parcels of trust lands at its biannual public auction May 25, 2016, earning $3,657,050 for public schools, Utah State University, Miners Hospital at the University of Utah Medical Center, the Utah State Hospital, and state reservoirs. The lands sold include recreation, agricultural, grazing, and development parcels in Box Elder, Daggett, Emery, Grand, Garfield, San Juan, Wasatch, and Washington counties. All proceeds from sales of trust lands are deposited into the permanent funds of these trust land beneficiaries, and annual interest and dividends from the permanent funds are distributed annually to support the organizations. SITLA also auctioned one additional parcel in Washington County on behalf of the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food.
