Congratulations to the SITLA GIS Team of Kate Staley, Barry Biediger, and Steffie Gould who presented at Maps on the Hill 2016 on March 1 during the Utah legislative session.
This year marked the fifth annual gathering of GIS analysts and mapmakers who share maps they’ve designed and developed, which help the general public and agency leaders make important policy decisions. Participation in this annual event increases each year, and maps are becoming more influential in the role of decision making.
Which include:
- Kate Staley: Utah Test & Training Range Enhancement
- Barry Biediger: Permanent School Fund Distribution to School Districts
- Steffie Gould: Mapping Planned Community Development
The GIS Team reported they met with legislators, and many students ranging from elementary to college age who seemed delighted to learn how SITLA helps support public schools.
