Utah Recreational Land Exchange Act of 2009

The Utah Recreational Land Exchange Act of 2009 was signed by President Obama and became law on August 19, 2009. The Act directs an exchange between the State of Utah and the United States government of approximately 25,000 acres of school trust lands and mineral interests, for approximately 35,000 acres of federal lands and mineral interests in Grand, San Juan and Uintah counties. The exchange will protect lands along the Colorado River corridor and help position SITLA with lands more suitable for development.
