Utah Recreational Land Exchange Act of 2009

The Utah Recreational Land Exchange Act of 2009 was signed by President Obama and became law on August 19, 2009. The Act directed an exchange between the State of Utah and the United States government of approximately 25,000 acres of school trust lands and mineral interests, for approximately 35,000 acres of federal lands and mineral interests in Grand, San Juan, and Uintah counties. The exchange protects lands along the Colorado River corridor and helps position SITLA with lands more suitable for development.
