Beneficiary | Juvenile Justice Services

The Utah Division of Juvenile Justice Services (JJS) is one of 12 beneficiaries of Utah’s trust lands. SITLA generates revenue from the 29,851 acres of land held in trust for JJS, and deposits the revenue into a Permanent Fund for JJS. Interest and dividends from this permanent trust, along with all non-land sale revenues, are distributed to JJS annually.
JJS uses these funds to assist it in its mission of providing a continuum of intervention, supervision, and rehabilitation programs to youth offenders while assuring public safety.
