June 3 Land Auction: 2,375 Acres of School Trust Land

The School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration (SITLA) will sell six parcels of school trust land at its biannual public auction at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 3 in the SITLA Office at 675 East 500 South, Suite 600 in Salt Lake City.
  • Bryce Creek parcels A, B, and C are approximately 80 acres each and located within the incorporated city limits of Tropic in Garfield County, approximately one-half mile south of the city.
  • The Pine Hills Parcel, also located in Garfield County, is approximately 40.24 acres and is located near Bryce Canyon National Park, approximately one mile northwest of the Bryce Canyon Airport.
  • The 1,535-acre Gunnison Valley/Green River parcel in Grand County comprises several scattered sections near the city of Green River, Utah on the east side of the Green River.
  • The Snake Valley/Eskdale Parcel in Millard County is approximately 560 acres and located near the town of Eskdale, about three miles north of Highway 6-50 and near the Utah/Nevada state line.
All proceeds from sales of these school trust lands will be deposited into the Permanent School Fund. Interest and dividends from this $2 billion trust fund are distributed annually to Utah’s public schools and totaled $40.4 million last year.
